What Bondesque is and where the saving sits

Bondesque is a store for bondage gear, sex toys, latex clothing, fetish fashion, books and games, run from a shop at 707 W. Lake Street in Minneapolis and sold online across the United States. Its about page says it was founded in 2013, calls itself woman-owned, and runs weekly in-person classes, monthly meet and greets and a private dungeon rental beside the retail side. The online catalog mixes the store's own Bondesque label with outside brands such as Spanked and Kulla, toy makers such as We-Vibe, Lovense, LELO and Le Wand, and latex designers such as Vex Clothing and Polymorphe.

The saving comes from a sale section that marks some products down against their own printed price, and a newsletter box that offers a discount on the next order. Free shipping starts at a spend threshold. Against that, the return policy says discounted items cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded, and non-defective sex toys are never returnable, so the saving and the right to send something back do not come together.

The sale section and its prices

In October 2026 the sale section is titled "Cyber Sale" and describes itself as a selection of deals on BDSM gear and more. Only some of its products carry a markdown. Those that do show a 20% badge beside a regular and a reduced price: a fantasy dildo goes from $90.99 to $72.79, and a silicone ball gag and a second fantasy dildo carry the same cut. Most of the other products listed there, collars, gags, clamps and further dildos, show a single price with no badge, so the section is a mix of reduced and full-price stock. The page gives no end date and no explanation of the Cyber label.

Prices throughout are in US dollars, the only currency the selector offers, and the cart shows its total excluding tax. The store runs on the Lightspeed platform, according to the footer.

Newsletter discount, free shipping and gift cards

The footer of every page carries a newsletter box that reads "Get 10% off your next order!" in October 2026. No page prints a code, an expiry or a minimum spend for it, or says how it sits with the rule on discounted items.

The banner across every page offers free shipping on all orders over $199, as read in October 2026, and the cart shows how much more to spend to qualify. The banner also promises that orders arrive in 2-4 business days. The support FAQ says every order ships by the next business day by USPS in standard USPS boxes, with delivery time depending on distance from the shipping location. The about page says the store does not ship internationally.

Gift cards come in set amounts or a custom amount, are emailed to the recipient instantly, and the gift card page says gift card purchases are non-refundable. The shipping and returns page says store credit from an approved return goes onto a gift card or, for a member, onto the membership account.

Returns, exchanges and what counts as final sale

The return policy opens by saying all sales are final except apparel and damaged items. Every return needs a request and approval by customer service. The return policy asks for the request within 48 hours of receiving the order and a postmark within 48 hours of approval; the shipping and returns page gives a request within 48 hours of delivery and a postmark within 72 hours of delivery confirmation, so the pages differ on the second window. Store pickup orders placed online get 5 business days to request a return. Items must be new, unsoiled and undamaged, with all packaging and original tags.

The non-returnable list is long: shoes, impact gear, bondage gear, CBT gear, non-defective sex toys, latex clothing, lubricants and body oils, medical instruments, underwear and books. A boxed item or toy that arrives damaged or defective is exchanged for the same or an equivalent item; the buyer sends photos or video through the online tickets portal or by email, the store sends a shipping label once the request is approved, and the exchange ships at no cost after inspection. Non-latex clothing, accessories and footwear go back for a size exchange only, with no refund; if the size cannot be supplied, a different clothing item in the right size can be chosen. For every other exchange the customer pays both the return shipping and the cost of shipping the replacement back, and must send the tracking number.

The short clause carries the most weight for a discount buyer: discounted items are not eligible for returns, exchanges or refunds. That covers the sale section's marked-down products.

In-store purchases have their own rule: a return request within 24 hours by phone or email, for a size exchange or store credit only, with the same exclusions for toys, impact, bondage and CBT gear, medical instruments, underwear and lubricants. Returns are requested through a ticket in the account area, or by email for a buyer without a loyalty account.

Canceling an order and the billing line

Cancellation is narrow. The return policy says an online order can be canceled only before it ships, that the request must come within 24 hours of placing the order, and that a 5% fee applies to canceled orders, as the policy read in October 2026. The support FAQ adds that an order cannot be changed after it ships, and that calling the store at once is the way to try before then.

The store describes discreet billing and shipping. The banner says sender and billing is "Black & Red", the support FAQ lists the return sender as "Black and Red", and the about page gives the sender name as "Red and Black", so the pages use both orderings. Packages carry no external branding. No processor is named and the pages list no accepted payment methods, though the footer links a Payment Methods page.

What the money buys, and who the offer suits

The catalog covers bondage kits, restraints, collars, impact toys, chastity devices, rope for shibari and suspension, vibrators, dildos, strap-on harnesses, sex furniture, latex garments, fashion, books, games and gender-affirming gear. The about page says its latex garments are in stock and ready to ship rather than made to order, and the Minneapolis shop has dressing rooms for trying on clothing that is not boxed. Staff answer by phone, email or in store, and the shop's listed hours close it to shoppers on Tuesdays, which are given over to workshops.

The sale section suits a buyer who already knows the product and accepts that a marked-down item is final. The newsletter discount suits a returning customer planning a next order. Neither suits a first-time buyer who wants to try a toy and send it back: sex toys return only when defective, discounted items not at all, and cancellation closes 24 hours after the order or at dispatch, whichever comes first, with a fee.
