What Wasteland is and what the offer is

Wasteland is a BDSM and fetish membership site that describes itself as "the web's oldest BDSM site" and, in its own headline, "The Largest Online BDSM, Fetish, and Alternative Sexuality Site On The Net". The copyright line on the join page reads Wasteland Inc, running from 1994 to 2025, and the contact block under the plans gives The Phoenix Group at an address in Nashua, New Hampshire, USA. The offer is a 2-day paid trial: a few dollars buys 2 days in the member area before the membership moves to the monthly rate. Next to it the join page sells a single month and prepaid terms of 3, 6 and 12 months, every one of them billed to a credit card and set to renew. The pages print no coupon, no sale and no end date for any price, so the trial is the one offer on the table.

The plan ladder and the trial

The join page, headed "Subscribe Now Using Your Credit Card", lists the trial first and then the plans from shortest to longest, each with its own "Subscribe Now" button. As of October 2026 it prices the 2-day trial at $4.95 and the 1-month plan at $34.95, and the longest term, 12 months, at $174.95. The 3-month and 6-month plans fall between those two ends, and every price is printed as the total for its term: the page shows no per-month breakdown for the longer plans and no struck-through regular price beside any of them.

The footnotes do the real work of the page. The single asterisk sits on every paid term and reads "Please Remember That All Credit Card Subscriptions Automatically Rebill, For A Like Period Of Time Until You Tell Us To Cancel". The double asterisk sits on the trial alone and reads "For Your Convenience, All Trial Memberships Will Automatically Renew At Our Monthly Rate!" Between them they cover the whole ladder: nothing on it is a one-off charge.

The trial is described only by its length and its price. The page sets no condition on who may take it, mentions no limit of one per card or per household, and does not say whether streaming, downloads or any section of the member area are held back during the two days.

After the trial or the first term

The conversion rule is printed in plain words. A trial membership renews "At Our Monthly Rate", and the monthly line on the same list is the 1-month plan, so a trial that runs out without a cancellation turns into the monthly membership. The footnote ties the change to the end of the trial rather than to a calendar date, and the page gives no separate renewal notice.

The prepaid terms renew the same way over their own length. The phrase "a like period of time" means a 3-month plan rebills for another 3 months, a 6-month plan for another 6 and a 12-month plan for another 12, and this continues until the member tells the site to stop. The wording of the footnote does not repeat the price, so the page leaves the renewal amount of a longer plan to the plan table itself.

The plan list carries nothing beyond the trial and the prepaid terms. There is no second site bundled into a plan, no download pack, no tick box for an extra product, and no lifetime option, token system or pay-per-scene purchase anywhere on the join page.

Billing

Every option on the join page is sold as a credit card subscription, and the page heading says so. It names no payment processor and no billing descriptor, so the text that will appear on a card statement is not given in advance. Prices carry a dollar sign, the contact address is in the United States, and the page shows no tax or fee line beside any plan.

For order questions the page gives two routes directly under the plan table. The first is a phone line, which the page describes as "24/7 live telephone customer support, even on holidays" and prints as 603-465-9088. The second is an "Email Us" link. Both sit beside The Phoenix Group's postal address in Nashua, which is the only company address the join page gives.

Getting out

Canceling is the member's job under the footnote, which says rebilling runs "Until You Tell Us To Cancel". The join page does not name the place where that happens: there is no member-area route, cancellation form or processor page on it. The two contacts it prints, the 24/7 phone line and the email link, are the routes it offers for questions about an order, and a member who wants to stop a trial before the monthly charge has those two to use.

The pages give no refund rule and no statement on whether access continues to the end of a paid term after a cancellation. The practical window is the one the footnotes create: 2 days for the trial before the monthly rate applies, and the length of the term for each prepaid plan.

What the money buys, and who it suits

The tour is deliberately clean, and the join page says so in its own words: "REMEMBER THIS TOUR KEPT IT CLEAN. THE MEMBERS' AREA DOESN'T." Behind the paywall the front page lists 1500+ original movies, a hand-picked film collection that includes "rare international titles", a 2,000,000+ image collection, Japanese bondage and shibari films and photographs, streaming interactive videos, a 3D and virtual worlds section, BDSM cartoons and illustrations, a fiction library of stories and novels, how-to guides with interviews and instruction, and original audio stories and podcasts. It calls its own productions "100% exclusive, in-house" and says the site has been "Updated weekly for 30 years!". Its about text speaks of high-definition indie films and full-length feature productions beside a large photo archive, and frames the whole site around consensual power exchange, naming education, exploration and community beside the films. The site is offered in English and several other languages, and a separate store sits beside the membership. The front page also lists awards from AVN, XBIZ and the Free Speech Coalition; those are the brand's own record and say nothing about what a plan costs.

For a fetish and BDSM viewer, the trial suits someone who wants 2 days to see whether that range of films, photographs, fiction and education is worth a monthly fee, and who will either cancel by phone or email inside those 2 days or accept the move to the monthly rate. The 12-month term suits a member who already knows they want a year and is comfortable with it rebilling for another year. The caveats are plain: every option renews, the join page names no processor or descriptor, and no written cancellation path or refund rule appears beside the plans.
