What Pirr is and what the offer is
Pirr is an interactive romance and fan fiction app. Instead of generating a story in one shot, it unfolds one line at a time and reacts to the reader's choices of genre, vibe, characters, location and plot. It is a freemium product: the essentials are free, and a Premium subscription adds more AI actions and more story controls. The adult side is switchable. A member who is 18 or older can activate NSFW mode under Advanced Settings to write stories with mature themes, inside the content guidelines. The offer on the money side is a free trial of Premium. The Premium page headline reads "More words, more features - try it free" and the button says "Start free trial". Beside the trial sits the free tier, the one no-cost route whose daily limits are printed in full.
The terms identify the provider as Pirr, and the privacy policy names PIRR AB of Stockholm, Sweden as the data controller. The about page says the company was founded in Stockholm in 2020.
The plan ladder and the figures
The ladder has two steps in words: Freemium and Premium. Freemium gives unlimited access to thousands of stories, 20 daily Standard AI actions, co-creating with others, reading and writing live, up to 1 character per story and up to 3 saved characters. Premium includes everything in Freemium, plus unlimited Standard AI actions, custom genres, tropes and locations, a plot generator with extended plots, up to 3 characters per story, unlimited saved characters and 500 Superior AI actions a month, a feature marked "coming soon". The FAQ adds that top-ups are available to both free and subscribed users, and the terms describe consumable credits that have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
In October 2026 the Premium page prints a single price line: "$8.99/month or $12.99/month, cancel anytime", followed by "Local prices may differ". The page does not label which figure belongs to which billing option. The in-app upgrade steps say to choose Monthly or Yearly and confirm, but the page does not map the two prices onto those two options.
The pages list no lifetime plan, no bundle and no discount code. The terms say the company may offer promotional codes redeemable for free subscriptions or other benefits, and that such codes may not be duplicated, sold or transferred, but the pages print no code and give no promotion with an end date.
What the trial turns into
The terms say Pirr may offer a free trial period before charging Subscription Fees, and that Pirr has the right to terminate a trial at any time and for any reason, with no warranty or support obligation during the trial. That is the full description of the trial mechanics. The pages do not say whether a card or a store account is needed to begin, how many days the trial runs, whether the trial converts into the monthly or the yearly option, or what the first charge is.
What the terms do say is that fees are those in the Subscription Plan at the times and for the periods set out in it, which the terms define as the order form the member selects online, so the in-app purchase screen is the document that sets the trial and the first charge. Pirr also reserves the right to charge in future for features that are free today, and any failure to pay can cost the member access to some or all services. The Premium page shows no pre-selected add-on.
Top-ups follow their own rule. The terms call them Credits: they are consumed on use, carry no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash, and any validity period is stated at the time of purchase. Money paid for Credits is otherwise treated exactly like Subscription Fees, so the same no-refund clause covers both.
Billing and payment methods
Upgrading to Premium is a mobile app action: the FAQ says a member needs to upgrade via the mobile app, and lists Profile, Settings, Manage Subscription, then Monthly or Yearly. A web version is in beta, but the Premium page does not offer a web checkout. The terms say payment may be processed through a third-party payment service, that additional terms may apply to such payments, and that Pirr may use other payment processors in future. For purchases through Apple or Google, the store is the seller of record: the terms say the exercise of any withdrawal right and refunds are handled through the store's own purchase and refund process. The pages name no card processor, accepted card list, crypto option or billing descriptor. On taxes, the terms state that amounts payable are stated before sales, use, value-added, withholding and similar taxes.
Getting out and getting money back
Canceling is done inside the app: Profile, then Settings, then Manage Subscription, the same screen used to upgrade. The Premium page says "cancel anytime" and repeats the path in its FAQ, but sets no notice period before the next charge and does not say whether access runs to the end of the paid period. Deleting the account is a separate step, under the account avatar and Edit profile, and the FAQ warns that it is irreversible and erases all data, so a member with an active store subscription cancels that first.
The refund rule leans against the member. Unless the Subscription Plan says otherwise or applicable law requires it, all amounts payable are non-refundable and non-cancellable. There are two stated exceptions in practice: members in the EU or EEA may have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason, and purchases made through Apple or Google follow the store's refund rules. A direct purchase on the website asks for consent to immediate performance and acknowledges the effect on the withdrawal right. An account terminated for breaking the terms gets no refund of purchases.
What the money buys and who the offer fits
Premium buys more room inside the same story engine: unlimited Standard AI actions instead of 20 a day, more characters per story, unlimited saved characters and tools such as the plot generator. The stories stay private unless the member publishes them, the member owns them, and the terms say Pirr does not train its own generative AI on them unless the member opts in. Content rules are strict and spelled out in the content guidelines, which apply to NSFW mode as much as to the rest of the app. Pirr runs on iOS, Android and a web version in beta.
The offer fits a reader who wants to write romance with a patient co-author, and who is comfortable buying through a phone store where the price and trial terms appear at purchase. It fits less well someone who wants the trial length and the renewal amount in writing before tapping, or who wants to upgrade from a desktop browser, since the Premium page routes upgrades through the mobile app. The free tier is the place to find out whether 20 daily actions are enough before deciding on Premium.
