What Erota is and what the offer is

Erota is an AI platform for personalized erotic storytelling. Members write single stories and multi-chapter novels with a Novel Studio, run roleplay chats, play choose-your-own-adventure stories and build characters, and the pricing page also sells text-to-speech so stories can be listened to. The home page adds live two-way voice chat as a new feature. The site states that all of its content is generated by AI and does not depict any real person, and that all characters are 18 years or older. The pages name no parent company, and the terms are governed by California law.

The offer is a 7-day free trial. Each of the three paid tiers on the pricing page carries a Start Free 7-day Trial button. Alongside it sit billing-period discounts for paying quarterly or yearly, and every tier comes with a daily allowance of free credits on top of the monthly plan credits. What the pages leave out about the end of the trial is set out under the trial heading below.

The tiers, the billing periods and the credits

The ladder is three monthly tiers, each priced per month, each with a larger monthly credit allowance than the one below it, plus a choice of billing period at the top of the page. All three include daily free credits, access to the more powerful AI models named Artisan and Master, and text-to-speech. The middle tier, marked Most Popular, adds full commercial rights to the generated text and audio. The top tier adds early access to new features on top of the commercial rights. The tiers are not given names on the page.

In October 2026 the pricing page lists the entry tier at $8.9 per month with 200 monthly credits, the middle tier at $13.4 per month with 400 monthly credits and the top tier at $26.9 per month with 1000 monthly credits. Above the tiers, the page lists billing as Monthly, Quarterly (-10%) or Yearly (-20%). Those percentages are the page's own labels, and the page does not say whether the per-month figures shown are the monthly rate or the rate after a quarterly or yearly discount.

What a credit buys is set out in the FAQ. A story costs the least on an Apprentice model, and Artisan and Master models cost more plan credits per story. A multi-chapter novel charges the outline and then each chapter at the model's rate, and every repeated generation costs new credits. Listening to a story costs more again, with high definition priced at double the standard rate, and a novel is charged per chapter. The FAQ also lists a charge of a few credits for each policy violation. The story generator on the home page labels its models with multipliers that do not match the FAQ exactly (Artisan is marked 3x there against 2 plan credits in the FAQ), so the credit cost of a model is worth reading at the moment of use.

The daily free credits work as a floor rather than a bonus. The FAQ, read in October 2026, says a paid member gets 15 daily free credits, but they only become active once the plan credits run out, they do not accumulate, and they expire at the end of the day. They show on the profile page and are kept out of the total at the top of the screen, which the FAQ describes as the sum of plan credits and forever credits.

No closing date is attached to the trial, and the pricing page does not present it as limited.

After the trial

The end of the trial is where the pages say least. The pricing page shows the trial button on every tier, but no page states what the trial includes, whether a card is needed to start, what the first charge is, or when it falls. The terms and the FAQ do not describe a renewal, a rebill amount or a notice before renewal, and they do not say whether a trial converts into the tier chosen or into the billing period selected at the top.

The FAQ answers the question of becoming a paid member by pointing to a Patreon membership page, not to a checkout on the site. The pages do not explain how the pricing page's trial buttons relate to that Patreon route, so the terms shown at the Patreon sign-up are the ones that set the first charge.

Credits are also described unevenly. Plan credits are tied to the monthly allowance, and the FAQ mentions purchased credits and forever credits, so a separate credit purchase exists, but no page lists a credit pack or its price. Whether unused plan credits carry into the next month is not addressed. No pre-selected add-on appears on the pricing page.

Billing

The only payment route the pages name is Patreon. The FAQ tells a prospective member to visit the Patreon membership page to become a paid member, and the cancellation answer also sends the member to Patreon. No card brand, wallet or crypto option is listed, and no statement wording is given. Every price on the pricing page is shown in dollars, with no line about sales tax or VAT.

For support the pages give an email address and a phone line, with the FAQ asking that the phone be used only for an absolutely urgent matter and pointing back to the cancellation answer first. The terms route complaints to the support email first and say Erota will acknowledge a complaint and try to resolve it within 5 business days, while the FAQ's complaints policy promises that reported content complaints are resolved within 7 business days. A dispute that the internal process does not settle goes to binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, held in California, on an individual basis rather than as a class action.

Getting out and getting money back

Cancellation sits with the member, on Patreon. The FAQ says only the member can cancel the Patreon membership, and that the operator cannot do it for them. It links to instructions for doing so, but no page says how far ahead of renewal to cancel or whether access continues to the end of the paid period.

The refund rule is stated as a proration. The FAQ says a refund is prorated based on the ratio of membership time that has passed for a membership, or the credit used for purchased credits, and it works through a 30-day example in which a refund requested after 20 days returns one third of the funds. That rule reaches purchased credits as well as memberships. The FAQ sets no deadline for asking and no processing time.

The terms add that the operator may end or suspend an account immediately, without notice, for any reason, and they list content types that members agree not to put in stories. Nothing on the pages says what happens to unused credits when an account is ended.

What the money buys, and who the offer suits

The money buys credits that run story writing, chapter-by-chapter novels, roleplay chat and audio, plus the Artisan and Master models. The about page describes themes across romance, adventure and fantasy, partners chosen from women, men, trans women, couples or groups, and writing styles from casual to classic. The generator writes in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish, and offers a choice of narrator voices and an option to add sound effects to each new story.

The offer suits a reader who wants to test a story generator for 7 days before committing and who is comfortable managing a membership on Patreon. A light user may get by on the plan credits of the entry tier topped up by the daily free credits. A heavy user will want the FAQ's credit cost list, because a long novel in high-definition audio uses plan credits quickly. The prorated refund is a real point in Erota's favor for someone who stops early in a month, while anyone who wants the first charge spelled out before starting will find it only on Patreon.
